Many restaurants provide views of the River Thames, but how many actually provide views from it? Aboard the R.S. Hispaniola you will find yourself appreciating the relaxed atmosphere and the pleasure of sitting in the refined, elegant surroundings of the River, whilst gazing across the water at the hustle and bustle of City life. Take in views from St. Paul’s Cathedral to the Houses of Parliament and, if you’re dining in the evening, the glittering fairy lights that constitute the South Bank at night.

A Mediterranean Flavour

The Hispaniola restaurant is moored on the River Thames by the Hungerford Bridge, alongside Victoria Embankment, and seats up to 220 people in air-conditioned style and comfort. The international menu has a distinctive Mediterranean twist, and is renowned for its excellent and generous dishes. Take a look at our restaurant menu to see some of the mouth watering dishes available. We also have a peerless wine cellar with wines from some of the finest vineyards in the world, and our elegant cocktail bar provides an ideal atmosphere to enjoy an aperitif before your meal. You may find yourself drawn towards our Tapas Bar, which embraces the romantic spirit of Cuba while honouring its southern European culinary heritage. Enthusiasts of things Cuban may also wish to take a look at our excellent cigar menu.

The à la carte restaurant menu has a truly international influence. All the ingredients are of the highest quality, whether you dine on a Pan-fried foie gras with shallots and poached pear starter, a main course of braised salmon on lemon potatoes with buttered curly kale and light lemon-butter sauce or a simple dessert of chocolate truffle with orange sauce.

The separate Tapas menu is something you'd expect to find more in a traditional spanish bar than a restaurant in Central London. There are Set menus available for Lunch and Diner, and the wine list is one of the most extensive to be found in the capital.

Group Bookings and Party Hire

Party bookings for groups and companies are always welcome. The Hispaniola can be hired in sections or in its entirety and is an ideal wedding venue. Our seating arrangements are particularly flexible, allowing us to accomodate groups and party hire of any size. There is a fine choice of menus that you can choose from for your event. We can arrange special facilities for private events, which include:

• Discos and bands, with or without dancers, and entertainers
• Casinos with a wide range of games
• Fair stalls and a large variety of indoor games and sports
• Flowers, balloons, ice sculptures and other decorations

The Hispaniola also offers first class Corporate hospitality services.

The R.S. Hispaniola is a fully air-conditioned restaurant. Both decks are cool when required in summer and warm in winter. She is also stabilised, impervious to the gentle undulations of the tide. Her days of tackling an ocean swell are, we hope, long gone, and though the view from her decks is different from forty years ago, it is just as impressive today than it was when she was known as the Maid of Ashton and sailed the Western Isles.
